Originating from South America, this rare plant features thin, strap-like leaves reminiscent of a young palm, and produces stunning yellow, orchid-like flowers during spring and summer. It is sometimes known as the water tulip. The light to mid-green leaves, with brown-tipped edges, add a subtle charm. This petite plant grows slowly from a small bulb and belongs to the iris family. While the plant is tolerant of semi shade positions, it flowers better with a sunny position.

Water orchid makes a stunning addition to the pond margins, especially when planted on mass.

Feed monthly from spring using the Pond Plantz time release fertilizer tablet by inserting the tablet 5-10cm under the surface of the soil.
